"VALENTINE'S DAY"

If I can write songs, I can write poems too,
So on this Valentine's Day, here's one just for you:
No mere words on paper could really portray
The love in my heart that deepens each day.
You've brought me such joy, You're my dearest friend,
If I had it to do over, I'd marry you again!

I knew years ago that you were the one,
And now we've been bless with two great sons.
We've had some hard times but we've had a ball,
And our Lord's been with us through it all.
I'm grateful for sharing my life with you,
For all of the memories (and teenagers too!)

You're the reason I wear a smile,
For you have made my life worthwhile.
I often think how plain life would be
If God hadn't given you to me.
Our house is a home because you're in it,
I miss when you're gone, even for a minute.

You've captured my heart, it's yours forever,
I'm committed to you, I'll leave you never!
I know not what the future may bring,
But whatever comes, to each other we'll cling.

You're tough, yet tender, a man among men,
And I love you deeply my precious Glenn.
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

VALENTINE'S DAY MASSACRE

All the lace, frilly and ornate
The decorated pieces of cardboard
Trumpeting the wonder of love for a day
On these cutouts our hopes must soar?
            <<<>>>
Whatever happened to old fashioned words
The kind you think up and send?
How quickly the cash is whipped out
to purchase generic love tokens that mend
            <<<>>>
The endless rows of red and white hearts
Sentiment dripping off into the floor..
Where did the personal touch go
Tis easier, friend, to grab and hit the door..
            <<<>>>
They tell us when to celebrate
The days of our lives, even our love
Dictated, packaged, prepared for consumption
I roll my eyes to heaven above
             <<<>>>
Whatever happened to the simpler times
When Friends &Lovers came together and shared
A smile, a sigh . . . . and the embrace of the day
So simple a thing.........just to care

FOREVER VALENTINE

You are the one
that soothes soul
The one my arms
yearn to hold

The one my lips
long to touch
The one my heart
misses so much

The only one
I call mine
You are my
Forever Valentine.

LOVE...

I MISS YOU.
The train travels
faster than my eyes can see.
I see you, in the depths of my
soul. In the corner of my eye.
You know me,
so l simply write,
for you my King.
My king,
that has held
me close to you.
I know what you dream,
I know what you see.
Discovered by my wisdom,
Owned by my dignity,
Strengthened by my fear,
of never letting go of you.
A writer's block of some sort.
Then I think of you.
Only to remember that
i never lost this gift
of loving you.
again,
i hear your voice, to lay
me down to rest. Pulled
over blankets lay on my
shoulder
of twilight and moonshines
in my window.
again,
until we meet
again...
MY LOVE, MY VALENTINE

ON VALENTINE'S DAY

You have lead my heart through a doorway
Where love and glee coincide
Walking in stride and glowing in pride
Your touch is gentle and caring
Giving my devotion reason for sharing
The warmth that resides inside
My tenderness, which I know I can surely provide
You've guided my spirit
Where loves harmony can hear it
Playing passion melodies from tunes
That my esteem has consumed: no need to assume
Or debate if my love is in a confused state
It's true
What I feel is real and this affection
Is taking my heart in the right direction
Gliding down loves street
Where our souls will meet
To be one

EVERYDAY VALENTINE
(Rainbow Of Roses)

I want You to be My Everyday Valentine,
Cause it just doesn't seem fair
To express My Love for You only once
A year.
I'll give You a different colored Rose
Everyday, to express My Feelings in
Every which way.

On Monday I'll give You a Red Rose as a
Symbol, I LOVE You, and to Thank You for
The PASSION I experience when You Make
Love To Me.

For Tuesday I'll give You a Yellow Rose to say
You will always have my FRIENDSHIP, and whenever
You need some spiritual HEALING, I will be a
Shoulder You can lean on, and One on whom
You can depend.

On Wednesday there'll be a Pink Rose waiting
For You, because I love the TENDERNESS about
You. I love to feel Your Tender Hands moving
Across My Face and Your Tender Body pressing
Against Mine. I love to hear Your Tender Voice
When You say, "I Love You," I love to see
Your Tender Smile.

I'll give You an Orange Rose on Thursday,
To express My SINCERITY when I say, I Love You
And I want You to be My Everyday Valentine.
I am Sincere when I say I want You to be My Friend
For Life, to spend the rest of Our Lives Together,
Loving, Holding, and Caring for One Another.

Friday I'll give You a Peach Rose, to say I
Remember the SUBTLE INTEREST You showed
When I first smiled at You. I remember the
FRESHNESS in Your Scent the first time I got next
To You.

On Saturday You'll get a White Rose from me,
To express The PURITY in The Love that I have for
You, and The NEW BEGINNINGS We can Create
If only We stick together, and put Our Trust in GOD.

On Sunday I'll give You a Rainbow Of Roses,
To compliment Your Sunshine Smile, Your Bright
Smile that greets Me after a long hard day.
A Rainbow Of Roses to say, You are a Work Of Art,
A Being Of Perfection... I TRULY LOVE YOU!

INVITATION

i am a woman
who knows how to love you
with baroque melodies that precede me
and hold your chin steady
i take pleasure
placing petals of roses
pink/fragrant/and/clutching dew
upon your pillow soft
and lightly kiss poems
that i have placed in my heart
into your soul

i love you
and you know this.

be my valentine.
